Maui
The 10,000 foot Haleakia Mountain, the western mountain Range, and a vast valley in between highlights Maui's majestic landscape. Maui is the second most populated of the Hawaiian Islands. The main town is Kahului, offering all the amenities and services of a modern large city. Additional quaint towns are scattered along the shores and inland parts of the island. Visit the 1,200 foot high foliage covered cinder Iao Needle, take the scenic and winding road to Hana, visit the rain forest and water falls on the way. Watch the Humpback Whales winter passage on the west shores. Visit the historic whaling village of Lahaina, now renowned for its souvenir shops. Drive to the top of Haleakala mountain observation point for a breath taking view of the island, or stroll along the sandy beaches of Kaanapali Beach.
